Arrest Warrant To Be Issued For Former Razorback

Updated: January 7, 2009
Authorities plan to issue an arrest warrant for former Arkansas fullback Mark Pierce after he failed to appear for a court hearing. The 21-year-old Pierce faces charges of third-degree battery, disorderly conduct and obstructing governmental operations. He was supposed to appear in Fayetteville District Court on Wednesday. Pierce was also arrested in Corsicana, Texas, last month -- suspected of driving while intoxicated. Texas officials say charges have NOT been filed in that case yet, because Pierce hasn`t gone to the district attorney there. Pierce`s agent cut ties with the player recently, saying Pierce created "problem after problem." Pierce is hoping to be picked in the NFL draft.
