A Pine Bluff man was sentenced today to 25 years in prison for robbery and murder convictions in the shooting death of another man. Circuit Judge H-A- Taylor imposed a sentence of 25 years in prison on each of three convictions after Chico Russell pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, aggravated robbery, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. The judge made the sentences concurrent. The 26-year-old Russell admitted to the May eleventh shooting death of 27-year-old Sampson Harris at an apartment complex in Pine Bluff. Russell had been out on parole for just two months when the shooting occurred. Russell originally was charged with first-degree murder and three counts of aggravated robbery, along with the weapons charge. He pleaded guilty to the lesser offenses as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors. Posted by Mike Hellgren
