Clark Says He`s Staying In The Presidential race

Wesley Clark`s campaign says he will NOT drop out of the Democratic presidential race if he does not win more than one of the seven primaries held today. The retired general is spending the day making the case for his candidacy in person in Oklahoma. Meanwhile, his campaign says its focus is blitzing the Hispanic community in Arizona and New Mexico. A leading Clark backer in New York speculated on radio that Clark, like General Custer at the Little Big Horn, was facing defeat today. But Clark spokeswoman Kym Spell says the history of this campaign is far from written. Another spokesman, Bill Buck, says staffers at headquarters in Little Rock are already focused on future contests in Tennessee and Virginia. Clark was neck-and-neck with frontrunner Senator John Kerry in Oklahoma polls entering today`s vote and running second in Arizona and New Mexico. Posted by Mike Hellgren
