Four Weeks To Fitness

Updated: January 7, 2009
Doctors and health care professionals tell us, it doesn`t matter what activity you choose, as long you`re active. A Central Arkansas man chose running for himself, but also serves on a half dozen boards and commissions, working to get you and others into active lifestyles. He`s your favorite volunteer, Henry Hawk. "I`ve been blessed and I`ve been fortunate to be around good people and traveling nationally to competing. I get to see the top people in the fitness world so I enjoy sharing what I learnd from them with others." That is why henry hawk worked so hard, to bring this calendar and work out guide to reality. He came up with the concept several years ago and kept working at it, to get it out to people. It takes you through a step by step program of flexibility, weight training, core strength building and cardiovascular exercise. At age 66 Henry`s in top shape and works to help people of all ages stay physically fit, like these kids at the annual great arkansas workout. Henry knows the importance of building your health early in life. "My mother died of diabetes and it`s in the family, so as long as I stay active, then I don`t care about it." As a picture of health, Henry certainly spends plenty of time building his own body, but also finds time to help others. "You know you could spend one or two hours a day preparing or going to meetings with it, but as much I get out of it it`s worth the time and effort." Henry does spend a lot of time helping others. Wednesday, he`s detailing his Four Weeks To Fitness program at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.
