Economic Growth Fuel Gas Prices Nationwide

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
The recent economic growth caused gas prices to jump nationwide, analysts said. "As the economy picks up, generally we see people travel more and use their motor vehicles more," says Robert Sinclair, Jr., with the Automobile Club of New York. "With that higher demand will come higher prices," says Sinclair. Capital City drivers are now paying as much as $1.61 for a gallon of regular, up thirteen cents from the same period last year. That`s still cheaper than the nationwide average of $1.68 a gallon. Hawaii residents pay the most at $2.09 a gallon for regular, according to AAA.
