Clark Comes Out Third In New Hampshire

Updated: January 7, 2009
In the first real test of his presidential campaign, General Wesley Clark finished third in the New Hampshire primary. His 13 percent edged out North Carolina senator John Edwards but fell far short of the numbers enjoyed by Howard Dean and John Kerry, the winner of Tuesday night`s contest. Just ten days earlier, polls put Clark in second place, however, an upset victory by Kerry in Iowa shifted momentum. The Clark campaign says the focus now turns to next Tuesday, when states like South Carolina and Missouri hold their primaries.
