Son Arrested For Attempting To Kill Mother

A Saline County man who police say slit his mother`s throat was arrested for attempted capital murder. Fifty-year-old James D- Lacefield of Salem is accused of trying to kill 68-year-old Doris Lacefield. Saline County authorities say that in addition to the attempted capital murder charge, the son faces aggravated robbery and theft counts. Police say James Lacefield left his mother for dead after he cut her early yesterday. She was able to call for help and was airlifted to a Little Rock hospital. Lacefield was arrested at a North Little Rock motel after police received a tip.
