A May 17th trial date has been set for country
music singer Glen Campbell, who faces a felony aggravated assault
charge in a minor traffic accident in November near his Phoenix
home.
Campbell, who is from Delight, Arkansas, was accused of kneeing
a police officer after being taken into custody. The officer wasn`t
hurt.
The singer also faces misdemeanor charges of extreme drunken
driving, drunken driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
He has blamed his arrest on the accidental mixing of alcohol and
a prescription anti-anxiety drug.
The singer has lived in Arizona for 22 years. His hits include
"Rhinestone Cowboy," "Galveston," "Gentle on My Mind" and
"By the Time I Get to Phoenix."
