Clark Won`t Respond To Critics

Increasingly under attack by his Democratic rivals, retired Army General Wesley Clark is holding his fire, for now. Clark dismisses the criticism he`s been facing as he rises in the polls in New Hampshire and nationally, saying he doesn`t want to get into the conventional politics mode. But he says there may come a time when he will have to take on his rivals more directly. A tracking poll released today showed Clark in second place in New Hampshire, still well behind Howard Dean and slightly ahead of John Kerry. His movement has prompted a fresh round of attacks from some of his rivals, including Senator Joe Lieberman, who has been criticizing both Clark`s new tax plan and old statements on the war in Iraq.
