State Revenues On Target

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Lower-than-projected personal income tax collections and slightly higher-than-expect sales tax collections put overall state revenues about on target for December. The state fiscal office reports collections of 329-point-seven (m) million dollars last month -- 17-point-two (m) million dollars more than in December 2002. But, the total is five-point-eight (m) million dollars -- or one-point-seven percent -- below the forecast for the month. Fiscal officers blamed the variance on shifts in the timing of payments for tax planning, which it said often occurs between December and January. Posted by Mike Hellgren
