A couple of Arkansas families got the best possible Christmas present this week. Specialist Brian Phillips was one of a few soldiers in the Army Reserves 489th Engineers Battalion that got to come home for the holidays. The unit has monthly drawings tos end soldiers home, and Phillips got lucky this month. Phillips says the long and tiring trip was worth every minute for the chance to see his wife and daughter. He says he and other soldiers received a lot of appreciation from the public along the way. "When we got to Atlanta, it was amazing. A hundred people standing around, clapping, cheering, taking our picture, wanting hugs," Phillips said. Phillips has two weeks to spend with is family, before heading back to Iraq in January. He says they could be returning next summer, but no specific date has been set.
