They`re calling it an early Christmas present for the military serving in Iraq: Saddam Hussein`s capture.
Michelle Schmidt had big news to share with her four-year old daughter Sunday morning.
"Her first question this morning as soo as I told her what happened was, `Does that mean Daddy`s cominghome tomorrow?`"
But Schmidt knows her husband, Air Force Captain Jeff Schmidt has work to be done.
She says her husband is not only relieved at Saddam`s capture, but even proud that all of their efforts have paid off.
While Schmidt believes retaliation may put American soldiers at even more danger.
But Sandy Rostan hopes this will slow down the violence against the Americans.
"I think the Iraqi people will never fully trust us until they know that he`s not gonna come back and try to take over," Rostan said.
She says her husband, Sgt. Randy Rostan and his unit were exuberant over the news.
She and friends are sending Christmas cards and presents to the 489th Engineers in Iraq, but for them, Christmas has already come.
