Getting Ready for Snow

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Some people in the small town of Morrilton are taking the snow predictions seriously. The staff at Roberson`s Tire Shop says they`ve been busy changing tires all day on Friday. Workers were punching studs into some tires to give them better traction in ice and snow. Other customres just replaced old tires for better traction, just in case. The Morrilton Street Department says they`re all set for whatever happens. With just one snow plow and two salt trucks, crews say they`ll have miles of hills and roadways to clear off for motorists. "Probably at 10 o`clock, everybody will start coming out cause they`re used to us getting snow off pretty early," said Charles Edwards, director of Morrilton Public Works. "Depending on the conditions, depends on how we treat it. Maybe chemicals before it gets here, you may treat it with sand and salt after it`s already here," said Glenn Bolick, spokesman for the Arkansas Highway Department.
