A judge has set a hearing Thursday to determine if a jury will be needed to decide if Pulaski County Clerk Carolyn Staley should be removed from office. Last month, a Pulaski County grand jury recommended Staley`s removal from office. The grand jury report said Staley "has failed, neglected or incompetently discharged her duties." It is her office`s job to keep the county`s voter registration lists in order. Thursday`s hearing will be before Circuit Judge Marion Humphrey, assigned to the case after eight other judges stepped aside. Prosecutor Larry Jegley said he hearing would also determine when actual proceedings will begin.
