Updated: January 7, 2009
In Lonoke, police arrested a man they beleive tried to solicit sex from minors, all the way from New Mexico. Police say 45-year old Larry Eugene Neely called several minors on the telephone and sexually harassed them. They found out about it in October when a 14-year old football player reported the phone calls to police. Police charged Neely with three felony counts of sexual indecency with a minor and five counts of harassing communications. Detectives say Neely found high school football players in the local newspaper and called them using Arkansas phone books. Detectives raided Neely`s albuquerque home in November and found phone books from all over Arkansas, maps and local newspapers with phone numbers written to the sides of the athletes` pictures. More charges are expected as the Lonoke County Sheriff`s Department and Arkansas State Police are investigating other cases.
