State legislator Marvin Parks of Greenbrier says he will better represent the views of the people of Central Arkansas than Congressman Vic Snyder. Friday night Parks announced his intention to challenge Snyder for his Second District Congressional seat in next year`s election. The Republican is the state House Minority leader. Snyder had only write-in opposition in the 2002 general election, and coasted to victory. Parks said yesterday that he will need between 700-thousand dollars and one million to be competitive. Parks said his supporters are excited and he has the support of the state Republican party.
