The unemployment rate in Arkansas dropped to six-point-zero percent for November from six-point-two percent in October. The numbers were announced today by the Arkansas Workforce Investment Board. The national unemployment rate for November was five-point-nine percent, down from six-point-zero percent the month before. The number of employed Arkansans rose by 400 to one (m) million-232-thousand-700. The number of jobless state residents dropped by 24-hundred to 79-thousand in November. The board says manufacturing jobs continue to decline in the state. Hiring in the retail sector for the holiday shopping season helped boost the number of employed people for the month.
