State Supreme Court Rules In Favor Of Summit Mall

The Arkansas Supreme Court today overturned
a lower court`s 2002 ruling that had blocked a big mall project in
west Little Rock.
The state`s high court ruled that a landowner, Russell Lemond,
waited too long to challenge a deadline missed by mall developers
Summit Mall LLC. Lemond and other landowners in the area wanted
to stop the 1.1 million-square-foot mall project.
The opponents waited ten years -- until 2001 -- to file their
complaint.
The high court reversed a circuit judge`s ruling, saying Judge
Mackie Pierce should have ruled that too much time had passed.
