A man charged in the Little Rock crosswalk death of a University of Arkansas professor is in the Pulaski County Jail without bond today. Twenty one year old Timothy Simpson of Bryant turned himself in to authorities yesterday. He is charged with negligent manslaughter in the death of forty six year old Rhonda Lewis. Lewis died when she was hit by a pickup truck as she walked across University Avenue. Lewis was killed as she crossed from the University of Arkansas Little Rock campus to a lot where her car was parked. Police said she was hit by a pickup truck and dragged about 180 feet before her body broke free from the truck. Lewis was to be married eight days later in Texas. Police say Simpson tested positive for marijuana and his blood-alcohol content was point-one-oh percent. The state`s legal limit is point-oh-eight percent.
