High Gas Prices Still Expected In Arkansas

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Despite an unusually warm fall, Arkansans can expect to pay more for natural gas in the coming months. That was the word at the state Capitol today from utility company officials who addressed a legislative committee. Representatives of CenterPoint ARKLA, Arkansas Oklahoma Gas and Arkansas Western Gas said average residential customers can expect a 20 percent to 30 percent increase in their monthly bills. The companies told legislators that the rate hikes were needed to keep pace with a volatile natural gas market and fluctuating supply levels.
