breaking news
A master`s degree program for the School of Public Service at the Clinton Presidential Library is among the
many items that was left unfunded at the end of the regular
legislative session in the spring.
The library in Little Rock is to open its doors in one year,
along with the School of Public Service.
Tom Bruce, who is serving as the Clinton School`s interim dean,
tells The Associated Press he had hoped the money would be in
place.
That means the school will only have certificate and non-credit
classes available by the fall of 2004. But Bruce is looking on the
bright side. He says the delay will provide an opportunity to work
out any bugs before starting the degree program in 2005.
------
Other presidential libraries have similar programs. The state of
Texas provides funding for degree programs at the libraries of
Lyndon Johnson and George H W Bush.
