A Missouri jury convicted Paroled Arkansas rapist Wayne DuMond Wednesday afternoon, of first-degree murder in the death of a Kansas City area woman. The jury deliberated three hours, reviewing testimony that DuMond bound, suffocated and left the nude body of 39 year old Carol Shields on a bed, back in September, 2000. The judge gave defense attorneys until early next month to file post-trial motions and then return to court after the first of the year. The 54-year-old DuMond can be given only life in prison without parole. DuMond was paroled after serving 13 years of a sentence for the 1984 rape of a teen-ager in Forrest City, Arkansas. He was awaiting trial when someone castrated him in 1985 in his Arkansas home.
