Police say an Arkansas Tech student used
identity theft to defraud fellow students and his girlfriend tried
to help conceal the crime.
Court documents show that Anthony Dsane is accused of getting
loans using other people`s identities. Alicia Nichole O`Gwynne is
accused of hindering prosecution.
Court documents say the 21-year-old Dsane allegedly used
information he took while working at the Arkansas Tech library to
get the loans. The 20-year-old O`Gwynne is accused of trying to
destroy documents incriminating Dsane.
Dsane is accused of 15 counts of felony forgery and six counts
of financial identity fraud.
Police won`t discuss the continuing case, but court records show
Dsane allegedly used his position as a student worker to gain
personal information of at least four other students. He is accused
of using one student`s personal information to receive four
separate loans.
The student was unaware of the loans, documents show. Police
allege Dsane also received loans at several local banks by using
that student`s identity.
