The mother of a 5-year-old boy who says
he was pricked by a hypodermic needle left inside a shoe at a
suburban Wal-Mart in Utah wants the retailer to pay for his H-I-V
and hepatitis tests.
But so far, Becky Pidcock has NOT heard from the
Bentonville-based company about her request. She says she is upset
by the silence.
Nathan Pidcock`s initial blood test showed he does NOT suffer
from either disease, but his mother says the blood was drawn less
than 24 hours after the needle broke his skin.
Those results will now be used for comparison purposes for other
blood tests to be taken over the next year.
On Halloween, Pidcock took Nathan to a Wal-Mart in Sandy, Utah,
for new clothes, including a pair of sneakers. He picked out a pair
of Faded Glory black and brown sneakers with a zipper instead of
laces.
She says when her son put on the left shoe, his toe was pricked
by a needle that had been put in the shoe.
