Federal officials are reminding landowners
and others who use Greers Ferry Lake that boats cannot be tied up
on the shoreline.
The Army Corps of Engineers plans patrols to identify owners NOT
complying with regulations meant to keep boats from breaking loose
and becoming hazards.
Boats remaining on the lake in violation of the rules may be
impounded. The Corps also plans to remove unauthorized buoys
anchored in the lake.
Also, the Corps plans to crack down on people operating vehicles
off of authorized roadways on public property.
