President To Visit Little Rock

Updated: January 7, 2009
President Bush plans to visit Arkansas on Monday to raise money for his 2004 presidential campaign. Before attending a late-morning Republican fund-raiser at the Statehouse Convention Center in downtown Little Rock, Bush also plans to recognize Michael Quick, a North Little Rock orthodontist, for his volunteerism. Quick offers free dental services to the poor, and Bush`s recognition of him is part of the president`s notice of volunteers around the country as part of his U-S-A Freedom Corporation initiative. The president`s visit to Arkansas comes just days after reports of lagging Arkansas state revenue collections and the highest state jobless rate in ten years, signaling a sluggish state economic recovery.
