Teacher Of The Year Named

An Arkadelphia first grade teacher was named Arkansas Teacher of the Year today. Twenty-two-year-veteran Donna Adkins will receive a 15-thousand dollar cash award with the honor. Adkins started the Reading Buddies program in her school district. The program pairs Ouachita Baptist University education majors with kindergarten students to help improve the children`s reading skills. Adkins graduated from O-B-U and received her master`s degree from Henderson State University. Posted by Mike Hellgren
