Pumpkin Facial

Updated: January 7, 2009
Moms, you can do more than help your kids carve a pumpkin, or whip one up into a pie. Treat yourself to a pumpkin facial! Some salons are mixing the vitamin rich vegetable into a facial. Beauty experts say pumpkins have enzymes that grab the dead skin cells off of your face, like an exfoliator. Here is the Recipe 1.Wrap a 4-ounce piece of pumpkin in wax paper and microwave 3 to 4 minutes until slightly soft. 2.Cool under running water to stop the cooking, then peel. 3.Place the pumpkin in a food processor or blender, adding in one egg yolk (pasteurized) and 2 teaspoons of plain yogurt. 4.Put the setting on puree and blend until smooth. 5.Apply mixture to freshly cleansed face and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse off.
