Six people were summoned to District Court Wednesday after failing to pay overdue parking fines.
The City says they are part of a group who owe about $500,000 in overdue fines. After failing to collect the money, the city issued warrants.
"I think today went outstanding," says Jack Wrenn, Little Rock`s Parking Enforcement Coordinator. "This sends a strong message on where the city stands on enforcement of it`s parking."
In August, the city published a list of people who owed the most money in fines. It appeared in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
Most of the people on the list paid up, but 16 didn`t, according to city records.
All six people pleaded guilty. 3rd District Judge David Stewart gave them 90 days to pay their debt in full.
Five of the six people owed more than $1,000 in fines, Wrenn said.
The city plans to issue more warrants later this week.
