Clean Up Language or Clean up City

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Police in Benton have issued a high number of tickets for people using offensive language in city parks. All three city parks have rules against offensive language. "Children don`t need to hear this when they come out with their families," says Officer Kevin Russell. "It`s not something they need to learn at such a young age." Tyndall Park is a popular place for skateboarding. Younsters say offensive language is part of the atmosphers. One skateboarder says "Everybody curses up here you jsut kind of get used to it. It`s a normal part of their speech because it`s cool of course." Offenders must appear in court and could be fined or face community service.
