Lieutenant Colonel Paul Wayne Kimbrough Senior, who died of a heart attack while serving in Afghanistan, has been laid to rest. The 44-year-old Little Rock native had lived in Washington, working in the inspector general`s office of the U.S. Department of Transportation, before being called to active duty in July. He was remembered at his funeral yesterday as a man devoted to his country. Among those attending the funeral were Congressman Vic Snyder and former U-S Transportation Secretary Rodney Slater. In addition, former President Clinton sent a letter that was read during the service in which Clinton said Kimbrough`s death "is a great loss to the nation." After graduating college, Kimbrough went into the Army on active duty for several years before going to the University of Arkansas to earn his law degree. At the Fayetteville campus, he become the head of the Black Law Students Association. Posted by Mike Hellgren
