The death of an eleven-year-old in
Arkansas years ago will play a role in a new case against a California couple.
The couple is charged with allowing the death of their 10-year-old daughter by refusing to get her medical reatment for an illness. The couple refuse medical treatment for themselves and
their children for religious reasons. Three of the couple`s six children have died.
The couple previously lived in Arkansas, where their eleven-year-old died in 1995 from diabetes complications compounded by dehydration and flu. The couple also lost a 12-year-old son after a two-week illness in Indiana in 1999.
Forty-year-old Wesley Hamm and 42-year-old LaRonda Hamm face charges of involuntary manslaughter and child abuse in the death of their daughter in California.
