About 20 soldiers from the Arkansas Army
National Guard`s Company D 114th Aviation have been called to
active duty and will mobilize Sunday.
The unit will report to Fort Stewart, Georgia, and will deploy
to Kosovo in the Balkans region sometime next year.
The unit will provide air traffic control for the Aviation Task
Force in the region and any aircraft operating in the vicinity.
Major General Don Morrow of the Arkansas National Guard says the
skilled unit`s training program has been used as an example for
other units around the country.
Company D has been on two other operational deployments: Haiti
in 1995 and Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2000.
