Saline County Jailers Fired for Drinking on the Job

There was a pretty wild night at the Saline County Detention Center this week--but it wasn`t the inmates who got into trouble. Several jailers there are accused of throwing themselves a party on the inmates` dollar. Two of four jailers on shift Tuesday night took some money from the inmate property room and used it buy a 12-pack of beer. Then three of them drank it during their overnight shift. The Saline County Sheriff`s Department has since fired them and booked them into another holding facility. There names are 32-year old Todd McEuin, 22-year old John Hood, and 21-year old Christopher Carman. "Our people are overworked in that facility. We have problems keeping them working, they work so much overtime. And to find these three have the time to sit there and consume alcohol is a shock to everybody in the Sheriff`s Office," said Lt. Jim Andrews, Saline County Sheriff`s Department. The three are being held in a different jail and are required to post bond for release. They`re being charged with two felony counts of bringing contraband into a holding facility.
