The responsibility of national security is being spread across the nation`s highways.
Friday, truckers from across Arkansas were trained and certified in looking for and reporting national security and highway safety threats on the road.
"By providing drivers with a secure line to automatically connect with law enforcement, they`re able to inform them more accurately of accidents and stranded motorists in rural areas," said Shannon Samples, Arkansas Truckers Association.
The Arkansas Highway Police say another goal is to save lives and keep trucks from becoming weapons for terrorists.
