Polie haven`t made any charges yet involving the car accident that killed a UALR professor right next to campus. It happened Thursday night around 8:30 at the intersection of University and 32nd Street just next to campus. Forty-six year old Rhonda Lewis was crossing the street when she was truck by a pickup truck and dragged several feet. The driver Timothy Simpson told police he had used marijuana. They say they`re waiting on drug and alcohol tests before filing any charges. Faculty and students remember Dr. Lewis as an intelligent professor, teaching education administration classes. "Just the knowledge off the top of her head was extensive when i asked her about stuff, she`d just spit it right out," said graduate student Danny Fletcher. Dr. Keith Christy in her program said she was instrumental in helping make changes at the department.
