A New Battle Begins: Marines Adjusting to Life Back at Home

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
It was a happy homecoming at Camp Pike on Saturday, but the 109 Marines who are back home know the fight is far from over. Instead of fighting to stay alive, now they fight to readjust to everyday life. It`s why the Marine Corps has a special program to get Marines back into the swing of things. It`s called the Warrior`s Transition Briefing, and every Marine has to take part in it before they ever see family members again. A chaplain leads Marines through a handful of potentially stress-inducing topics, like how long the transition should take and what kinds of changes the Marine should expect. Marines like Sgt. Colin Gorman say the program was worth it and that now he just looks forward to catching up for lost time.
