Hillary Clinton Gets Censored

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Hillary Clinton`s publisher is swapping heated letters with Chinese publishers of her memoir, "Living History." The fight erupted after the Chinese government-backed publisher Yilin Press removed references to the 1989 Tiananmen Square protest and activist Harry Wu. Clinton called the changes "amazing and outrageous," and her publisher, Simon and Schuster, demanded an immediate reprinting of the complete, uncensored text. Clinton`s camp has issued a deadline for Yilin to back down or lose all rights to sell her book. In response, Yilin sent an apologetic letter to New York-based Simon and Schuster, but one that blamed the international episode in part on the failure to receive the book promptly from America.
