Pine Bluff Murder Trial

Updated: January 7, 2009
A man accused in a 2002 homicide is scheduled to go on trial in Pine Bluff tomorrow. Trava Tillman is charged with capital murder in the death of 23-year-old Derrick Harris, who was shot to death in July of last year. Tillman has pleaded innocent. Police say Harris was shot twice while sitting in a vehicle parked in the back yard of a Pine Bluff house. The shooting allegedly followed an argument between Tillman and Harris over a woman that both had a romantic interest in. Jefferson County Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Kyle Hunter says the state is NOT seeking the death penalty against Tillman. Posted by Mike Hellgren
