Updated: June 4, 2011
It's set for noon Friday, June 10 through midnight June 12. There's gonna be five derbies. You can call the Game & Fish Commission at (501) 223 - 6371 for more information.
But I've got some other places where you can fish from the bank or piers: Lake Conway, Adams Lake, Palarm Creek, Pierce Creek -- the dam site area -- Lawrence Landing, Caney Creek by the bridge, 89 Bridge, you can fish around it. All these are handicap accessible so you can get out there and fish. They're catching brim right now on frigates and red worms.
Also, Little Red River, JFK Landing -- there's going to be a derby there, also, so you can go out there and catch some trout. Make it simple for yourself -- you can fish with four- to six-pound line using egg or corn will work real well.
Greers Ferry, they're fishing real good on Kentuckys and small mouth. Use a chatter bait or a floating worm.
Regina's Bait of the Week is chatterbaits. They're hittin' 'em real good at Greers, Ouachita and Maumelle. Don't be afraid to change those trailers -- jig trailers and swim baits both working real well. So throw it out there deep or shallow and see whatcha get. We hope you catch a bunch.
We'll see you next week.
