U.S Attorney General John Ashcroft thanked scores of Arkansas lawmen for their role in keeping America safe. Ashcrofts says more than 260 potential terrorists were stopped since the September 11th attacks because of widespread cooperations between government agencies as well as the Patriot Act. The Patriot Act allows the government to use roving wiretaps and delayed notification warrants to pursue terrorists. The ACLU says the Patriot Act is an invasion of privacy. Ashcroft says it`s a tool that is used under heavy judicial supervision.
