The family of a Little Rock Central graduate says
they`ve been notified that their son has been killed during
fighting in Iraq. The family of Special Forces Master Sergeant
Kevin Morehead said they were told that he died in a firefight in
the town of Ramadi. Another soldier was killed and seven were
wounded
Morehead`s family lives at Benton now, but the 33-year-old grew
up in Little Rock. He was one of the first soldiers deployed to
Afghanistan to round up terror suspects following the September
Eleventh attacks. He returned to Fort Bragg, North Carolina, before
heading out to see more action in Iraq.
Morehead`s family says they consider him a hero and patriot who
fought on the front lines in the war against terror. The soldier
was stationed at Fort Campbell in Kentucky and was scheduled to
return from Iraq in two weeks. He would have turned thirty four on
Sunday.
