The Pine Bluff Police department has moved school resource officers and Drug Abuse Resistance Education officers out of the public schools. Pine Bluff Mayor Dutch King imposed a hiring freeze throughout the city - including the police department. Since the department is short 29 officers- Chief Daniel Moses says they had to pull officers out of the schools and put them out on patrol.
Superintendent Frank Anthony says they do have school security officers and a high tech surveillance system in place at many of the schools that will keep things safe.
