Members of the local Jewish community now have a new place to call home. After some years of growth, Lubavitch of Arkansas has opened its first center, the Chabad-Lubavitch Jewish Center on Fairview Road. Rabbi Pinchus Ciment estimates a Jewish population increase over 10 percent in the last 10 years in Arkansas. He says that`s not only new families moving in, but also those who`ve been here and unable to practice the faith much, because there wasn`t much activity. Ciment says the center will be used mostly as a school to teach their children more about Jewish faith and traditions. "Here we are offering them a 1st class secular education, combined, complemented with a 1st class Jewish education. And we come out with a tremendous win-win situation," said Ciment.
