State Agencies Respond to E-Mail Controversy

Updated: January 7, 2009
The head of one of the state`s largest agencies says he`s re-emphasizing their e-mail policy. This comes two days after News Four Arkansas released offensive e-mails that were distributed within the Arkansas Crime Information Center. The e-mails include pictures of bare breasted women and off color cartoons. ACIC Director Charles Pruitt says he regrets any embarassment this may have caused the agency. State Police Director Don Melton says he`s taking pro-active measures. He`s stressing the department`s e-mail policy to all his commanders. "Citizens provide us the resources for us to do government work we don`t need to use it for frivilous work and funny stuff," Melton says. The ACIC supervisory board will hold a meeting on Friday to discuss what action if any will be taken.
