Wesley Clark Says He`s A Democrat

Updated: January 7, 2009
Wesley Clark still won`t say definitively whether he`ll seek the presidency. But the retired Army general finally revealed his political affiliation today: Democrat. For months, the former NATO commander has said he belongs to no political party and is not raising money. But many expected him to enter the Democratic presidential primary. In recent days, Clark has said he`s getting closer to a decision. He says he will make his intentions clear before a speech in Iowa on September 19th. Clark grew up in Little Rock. If he enters the race, he`d be the tenth Democratic candidate. He`d be far behind his rivals in organization and fund raising. But he`d bring an extensive military background and national security credentials.
