Labor day Accident Report

State Police say nine people died on Arkansas state highways during the Labor Day weekend. The deaths occurred in seven accidents between six a-m Friday and the end of Monday. State Police investigated 202 accidents in the 90-hour period, six of which were considered alcohol-related. The Highway Patrol Division reported 31-hundred-87 total arrests statewide, nearly half of which were for speeding. There were also 107 arrests for driving while intoxicated, six for driving under the influence and 337 for failure to buckle safety belts. Comparable figures of state-investigated accidents from last year`s Labor Day weekend were not available today. Posted by Mike Hellgren
