Governor Huckabee`s office says the governor will have surgery next week to repair torn cartilage in his left knee. The governor says the injury probably occurred while getting out of his boat and was aggravated by his exercise routine. Huckabee has dropped 50 pounds since starting a medically supervised diet in June that includes regular exercise. He walks nearly two miles most mornings and rides a stationary bicycle. Doctor Richard Nix is to perform outpatient surgery Monday morning. Huckabee is expected to resume a normal schedule several days after the surgery.
