A man and woman from Haskell pleaded not guilty Tuesday to roles in a teenager`s death last week in Saline County. Twenty-six-year-old Ronald Joe Hamilton of Haskell appeared in Saline County Circuit Court to face charges of capital murder, rape, kidnapping, theft and arson. Christine Lester, also age 26 and of Haskell, pleaded innocent to a charge of hindering apprehension. They`re set for separate trials. Hamilton is accused of leading 17-year-old Stephanie Anderson into a wooded area near the truck stop where she worked and killing her during a sexual assault. Police said Lester helped Hamilton after the killing by washing his clothes. Saline County Prosecutor Robert Herzfeld said today he would seek the death penalty for Hamilton.
