Wesley clark supporters came from all the country saturday, braving the heat to make their voices heard. the message: run clark run. "He`s an intelligent person with a lot of integrity," says Herman Mullings, who traveled from Hot Springs to the River Market rally. "We definitely, desperately need him in the White House today." The grassroots movement to get General Clark on the ballot has hit a fever pitch. There are candy bars, buttons, signs and a national commercial, with Clark looking more presidential with each passing day. "He has a plan for the future for even 100 years down the road and that`s what we need to look at, says Jan Overturf, a Hot Springs supporter." The patriotic spirit was alive and well at Satrudays rally. Korean and Vietnam veteran Johnny Williams says Clark`s military background is needed to rebound from a war he doesn`t believe was necessary. "Hopefully, some way we can bounce back but we could never recover those lives that we`re losing over there, to me, in vain," says Williams. Larry Huynh came all the way from San Francisco to hang his hat on the man he says will make a difference in foreign policy "He`s a man who doesn`t want the U.S. to exercise its muscle internationally because it can," Huynh says. Wesley Clark plans to make an announcement in the next few weeks. Supporters say if he chooses to run, its likely hell run on the Democratic ticket. -- Filed by Dave Jordan
